Summer 2017!

Summer 2017!

Hi guys!

So this summer feels like it just started but it’s already the end of June! Anyway, I wanted to give you all an update on my summer and also recommend a few fun activities for you as well. This week, I began Vacation Bible School at my church, Our Lady of Grace. I HIGHLY recommend doing a VBS program this summer! Several local churches host one and they truly are a great experience. Working with kids on various crafts, games, and lessons is a blast! Even if you are not a regular church-goer, it’s okay! Teaching and helping children of elementary ages truly is rewarding and fun.

I have also been swimming in the mornings and some evenings with my club team SwimUnited. If you are interested in swimming, please contact me or look this team up for more information! Also, Brunswick High School Swim Team can always take more members and everyone is welcome (all abilities).

Lastly, my volunteering at Medina Hospital has been going great. I work in the Gift Gallery and help visitors out when they are choosing a gift for the patient they are visiting. If you are interested in something like this, try visiting a hospital’s main page and then searching for ‘volunteering opportunities.’ Many hospitals would be glad to see volunteers coming into their programs.

Have a good summer and I hope you try one of these fun activities!! 🙂 See you next time!

Tyler Martin – Class of 2018

Tyler Martin – Class of 2018

Me playing The Baker in BHS Theatre’s 2017 musical, Into the Woods.

Greetings, one and all! My name is Tyler Martin, and I’m going to be a senior at BHS next year. I’m so excited to share my Brunswick experience with you! I’m a pretty actively involved student at the high school. I’m a member and the new student director of the BHS Choir Department, a member of National Honor Society, and also a thespian in the BHS Theatre Department. As I start to share my experiences with you, I’m sure you’ll begin to see that I am truly a student of the fine arts. I have a love for music and a profound passion for performing theatre and musical theatre. Outside of school, I study voice privately, perform at many Cleveland theatre companies, and expose myself to as much theatre as I possibly can! I’ve been a theatregoer since the age of ten when my mother took me to see national tour of The Phantom of the Opera at Playhouse Square in Cleveland. I was so taken back by the experience that I wanted to hop onto the stage and give it a try… So I did! And now, here I am, a performer of four years now with a resume of fifteen theatrical productions. Some of my favorite credits include; Shrek: The Musical (Lord Farquaad) at BHS Theatre, The Crucible (John Proctor) at BHS Theatre, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Leaf Coneybear) at The Cassidy Theatre, and Beauty and the Beast (Beast) at Fred Hargrove Young Artists. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve been given, especially here at BHS. Our music and theatre departments strive for excellence and have earned great credibility. They provide wonderful instruction and experiences that allow student artists like me to study, explore, and refine my craft. I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to provide you with some insight to my life as a performer and musician at Brunswick High School! Before I sign off, I would like to share that I am currently taking the stage at The Cassidy Theatre where I am playing the role of Hysterium in Stephen Sondheim’s A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum! The show runs June 9-25, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and on Sunday at 3pm. Visit www.cassidytheatre.com for ticket prices and box office information.

Sean Tarbuck – Class of 2019

Sean Tarbuck – Class of 2019

Hi everyone! My name is Sean Tarbuck and I will be going into 11th grade this Fall! This upcoming year for High School is going to be a super challenging year for me, with taking 4 AP courses, and 3 honors I will have to work very hard to maintain a good GPA! Not to mention, I love getting involved within the community and the school so I will also will be packed with clubs like VOFT, POFT, PBIS, Huddle, Student Council, and Spanish Club. However, in my off time during the summer I love spending my time relaxing at the pool, running, and hanging out with friends. This summer, I also will be traveling all over for vacation and soccer! I can not wait to be by the beach and have my feet in the sand. For vacation I am going to South Carolina, Georgia and then right after Georgia, I am flying to South Dakota for soccer. Crazy right? In the middle of nowhere. Summer is already flying by, but hey, I’m having a blast :D. The first picture below is my Brunswick High School Soccer Picture and the other image is a picture of the beach we go to in Georgia!

Felicia Pasadyn – Class of 2019

Felicia Pasadyn – Class of 2019

Hi, everyone!

My name is Felicia Pasadyn and I am a three sport student-athlete at Brunswick High School. In the fall, I enjoy long distance running in the Cross Country program at BHS. (This year, the CC program plans to make a new 5k course right here in Brunswick! We are very excited for this new renovation!)

In the winter, I swim for the high school, and in the spring, I run track. These many activities can be stressful at times, but the constant challenge and business keeps me interested and excited!

In the summertime, I swim on a club team and begin to build up miles for cross country in the fall. We run, beginning mid-July, around the scenic Hinckley Lake. This summer, specifically, I plan to volunteer at Medina Hospital and camp around different campgrounds in Ohio, such as Mohican State Park in my free time.

Now that you know a little bit about me, my future blog posts about life as a Brunswick High School student-athlete will hopefully be helpful to you and many others!

Andrea Schieberl – Class of 2020

Andrea Schieberl – Class of 2020

Hello, my name is Andrea Schieberl and I am going into 10th grade here at BHS. You can see me participate in events for PBIS, VOFT, and Student Council. I don’t have the most interesting life, I merely look at the little things as they signify the most. So far, these little things have included spending time with my friends and family, making unforgettable memories, exploring new places around our community, walking my dog, bentley, laughing a lot with my mom, learning something new everyday, and cherishing every moment here, and yet to come. This summer, I look forward to creating many more unforgettable memories, relaxing, reading (I’m definitely a nerd), and bettering myself as a person. I was a previously on the football and basketball Freshman Cheer Team. This year, I plan on trying out for the 2017-2018 Cheer Season at BHS, in which I wish everyone the best of luck, especially the incoming freshman, for I was in their position last year and it could be very overwhelming! Some things you may see me write about in the future will mostly be what I have done this summer and what lessons I have learned throughout all of these. I think I’m funny and laugh at myself most of the time, so hopefully this will be more interesting in the blogs to come. Thank you for your time, I hope you’re looking forward to reading more about my summer!

Alexandria Theiss – Class of 2020

Alexandria Theiss – Class of 2020

Hi! My name is Alexandria Theiss and I’m going into 10th grade at BHS this fall. I am going to be on the Dancin Devils team during basketball season and (hopefully) cheerleading this fall. I’m also a member of PBIS, Voft, and Student Council. I love to read, watch movies, take pictures, and explore new places. Some other random facts about me, I have a pet hedgehog, I love mermaids (and wish they were real), bacon is my favorite food, I dance on the competitive company at Elite Dance Academy, and I am very clumsy/have terrible luck (which has caused very embarrassing moments). This summer I plan on spending a lot of time with my friends, watching Netflix, swimming, going to concerts, and going to Cedar Point. In future blog posts, you can expect to see me writing about my friends, sports, and other things going on at the High School. The first picture below is me at the beach last summer and the second picture is me and my friend Andrea before cheering at the Homecoming game last fall!
